Present Simple – הווה פשוט
משתמשים ב‑Present Simple כדי לדבר על הרגלים, עובדות, דברים שקורים בדרך כלל, או דברים שהם תמיד נכונים.
נוסחאות בסיסיות
Negative: Subject + do/does + not + V1 + ...
Question: Do/Does + Subject + V1 + ... ?
V1 = צורת הבסיס של הפועל (work, play, eat).
ל‑he / she / it מוסיפים בדרך כלל s או es בפועל במשפט חיובי.
דוגמאות
- Positive: She plays the piano every day.
- Positive: They go to school by bus.
- Negative: He does not like coffee.
- Question: Do you live in Haifa?

Present Progressive – הווה ממושך
משתמשים ב‑Present Progressive (נקרא גם Present Continuous) כדי לדבר על משהו שקורה עכשיו, ברגע זה, או בתקופה הזו (גם אם לא ממש עכשיו).
נוסחאות בסיסיות
Negative: Subject + am/is/are + not + V-ing + ...
Question: Am/Is/Are + Subject + V-ing + ... ?
V‑ing = הפועל עם סיומת ing (play → playing, eat → eating).
דוגמאות
- Positive: I am studying English now.
- Positive: They are playing football in the park.
- Negative: She is not watching TV at the moment.
- Question: Are you listening to music?

הסבר: גם אם זה לא ממש עכשיו, זו תקופה נוכחית → Present Progressive.
Past Simple – עבר פשוט
משתמשים ב‑Past Simple כדי לדבר על פעולה שהסתיימה בעבר בזמן מסוים (אתמול, בשבוע שעבר, לפני שנה וכו').
נוסחאות בסיסיות
Negative: Subject + did not + V1 + ...
Question: Did + Subject + V1 + ... ?
V2 = צורת העבר של הפועל (worked, played, went, saw).
במשפט שלילי ושאלה חוזרים לצורת הבסיס (V1) אחרי did.
דוגמאות
- Positive: I visited my grandparents yesterday.
- Positive: They watched a movie last night.
- Negative: She did not go to school on Monday.
- Question: Did you see the new film?

משתמשים ב‑Past Progressive כדי לדבר על פעולה שהייתה בתהליך בזמן מסוים בעבר, או פעולה ארוכה שנקטעה על ידי פעולה אחרת.
נוסחאות בסיסיות
Negative: Subject + was/were + not + V-ing + ...
Question: Was/Were + Subject + V-ing + ... ?
דוגמאות
- Positive: I was studying when you called.
- Positive: They were playing football at 5 p.m.
- Negative: She was not sleeping at midnight.
